Youth Speaks Competition

On Tuesday 16 January, two Claires Court teams competed in the first round of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition.
Rob Bowen, Drama teacher, said:
“Our Senior Team, consisting of Seb (Chairman), Freddie (Speaker) and Kabir (Vote of Thanks), gave an unusual speech entitled ‘What A T-Rex Cannot Do’, which cleverly guided listeners to consider issues of bullying and self esteem. They gave a very strong performance, with Kabir garnering praise for a nearly flawless delivery.
“The Intermediate Team of Rafe (Chairman), Tom (Speaker) and Connor (Vote of Thanks) gave a credible performance in their first time public speaking. Their presentation about ‘The Family Politics of Pet Ownership’ was amusing and engaging.
“Both teams have made it through to the next stage in Marlow on 1 February, so wish them both luck!”
