Claires Court Maidenhead

from Nursery to Sixth Form

Regatta Wins

The top quad of; Alex Richardson, Jono Cameron, Ollie Costley and Finlay Gronmark, represented Claires Court at the Wallingford Regatta on Sunday 1 May.

Tom Jost, Rowing Coach said;

“In their first round the boys had a good start and moved out to an early lead which they continued to extend throughout the race and so won very convincingly. In the final, which was up against some very decent opposition, the boys raced well and moved away from the field in the second half to another convincing win over 2nd place Leander. This is the first time that we have won this race and although some of their main opponents were absent from the event, it was a nice way to start the regatta season. The boys race again in two weeks time at Nottingham City Regatta where they are due to race against some of the medalists from the School's Head and it will be a good test to see where the boys are.”

Other Claires Court crews were racing at Marlow Spring Regatta on bank holiday Monday. All year groups raced very well and showed some encouraging performances that was topped off by three wins. The first win came from Billy Gore and Callum Perera in novice doubles to win their first sculling race, then came Jack Jesseman in IM3 singles (a men’s event) to win his first single sculling race and then the Eight of Jack Jesseman, Callum Perera, Billy Gore, Toby Yate, Fred Peck, Ben Smith, Jack Harris, Charlie Lane and coxed by David Jobling won IM3 event against a very capable Marlow R.C men's crew. The boat club has a busy weekend of racing in two weeks time where we will be up at Nottingham City Regatta and Thames Ditton in Hampton on the same day and then Maidenhead Junior on Sunday.

We look forward to sharing some more results with you in the coming weeks.
