Ali’s first stand-alone novel, Frozen In Time, won the Blue Peter Book of the Year Award in 2010 and her books, including the SWITCH series, have been translated into many languages.

The morning was split into a presentation on one of Ali’s novels 'Carjacked' and her journey as a writer. This included her story writing efforts, which incorporated both failures and and successes! The pupils were then tasked to practice their own storytelling skills, across different genres including horror and romance to TV advert and EastEnders style!

“The group focused on using dynamic pronunciation whilst they were storytelling, to express tone and mood. The pupils read their paragraphs aloud to the group, much to the amusement of staff and students!”
