Boarding the Hogwarts Express!
After receiving their letters from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry earlier this term, Friday night saw our excited Year 4 would be wizards board the Hogwarts Express for a night of spells and magic.
The evening started with watching the opening scenes of the Philosopher's Stone movie accompanied by some Dumbledore’s Delight Juice and Hufflepuff Popcorn.
The boys then took part in a craft activity to make Hedwig’s cage complete with a golden sickle (wizard money) and a session on the Harry Potter website to discover their character name. The bravest boys tried the sweets ‘Bertie Botts Every Flavoured Beans’, tested their own magical ability using the Silver Orb, and finally they had a visit to Ollivanders, a wand shop, where their wands chose them and glitter, unicorn feathers and jewels were everywhere! The evening finished with a candlelit story telling session in the library led by our very own Professor Hogg.
The weary wizards then headed home with heads full of magic spells and inspired by the wonder of Harry Potter.
