Year 9 Race Maggots!
Welcome to Year 9 maggot races! Take your bets please!
The boys named their maggots and used them in a number of physics practicals to help them understand the difference between distance and displacement.
The maggots proved to be a lot faster than predicted with some surprising results. The boys took bets and then had to use the distance travelled and the time taken to calculate the speed at which the maggot travelled. It was also surprising how far it actually travelled in comparison to its displacement from the start.
No maggots were injured in the course of this practical.
