Creating Models Of Drainage Basins And Waterfalls!

The Year 7 boys were recently tasked with creating individual models of either a drainage basin or waterfall. They had three weeks to do the project, and were given free reign and encouraged to be as creative as they wished.
The project allowed them to consolidate the unit of work they are covering which is 'rivers' and enabled them to think critically about the task, manage their time, increase their knowledge and develop creativity.
Edward Thorne, RYA Trainer, said:
“We had some excellent projects which included a fully working waterfall (with an internal pump and water) a variety of projects made out of cake, and one even made from lego. The boys worked extremely hard on their projects and produced some excellent work.”
