U11 Girls County Hockey Tournament

On Tuesday our U11 girls hockey squad played in the County Hockey Tournament at Reading Hockey Club, along with 17 other schools.
The Year 6 girls played three group games in the morning, beating Holme Grange 1-0 and The Marist 3-0, and losing to the Abbey 2-0. We came second in our group, a fantastic achievement, and therefore progressed through to the Cup Competition.
Claires Court then played three group games in the cup competition, against Holme Grange ‘A’, Lambrook ‘A’ and St Andrews. Unfortunately the girls narrowly lost to Holme Grange 1-0 and had two well fought games against Lambrook and St Andrews, drawing 0-0.
This meant we came third overall in the cup group competition, just missing out on the semi-finals. Neve, Mia, Lily-Mae, Kyra and Amelia were all awarded ‘Player Of The Match’ in the games played.
Katie Hudson, PE Teacher, said:
“Congratulations to all the girls who took part, you played with great enthusiasm, determination and you did yourselves, Miss Barrett, and I, very proud!”
