Building Lego Cities
Last week, architects, designers and constructors in the form of Year 3 Junior Boys and Girls came together to work collaboratively in order to construct Lego buildings, and ultimately their own Lego cities!
They began by brainstorming which buildings their Lego communities would find the most useful. They used their imagination and creativity to plan, design and construct mansions, hospitals, swimming pools, football stadiums and shops, to name just a few. The children went on to use electrical systems to light up their buildings, and connected up their buildings using roads and landscaping materials.
Molly Mansfield, Year 3 Junior Girls teacher said:
“It was fantastic to see the children being risk takers, relating their buildings and cities to real life communities and using their problem solving skills to overcome challenges they faced.”
