Claires Court Win Regatta!

On Thursday 22 March, Claires Court Outdoor Education team hosted a day of staff training and development on behalf of the British Schools Dinghy Racing Association (BSDRA). In total, 25 teachers from across the country came to be trained in umpiring by International Umpire Chris Atkins and Better Coaching Techniques by RYA Race Coach, Ed Sibson.
Alongside the training for staff, a regatta was held for pupils with five schools competing: Claires Court, Cokethorpe School, Eton College, Milton Abbey School and Clifton College. Claires Court emerged victorious after winning all ten races. Full results are available here.
Paul Robson, Claires Court Head of Sailing and Outdoor Education, said:
“This was the first time the BSDRA has ever put together a practical on-water training day and with 70 people involved in either delivering, racing or gaining knowledge, it was a great day and left everyone wanting more.”
