Young Enterprise Teams Take To Windsor

With the “Beast from the East”, which unceremoniously brought a halt to proceedings a few weeks ago, now thankfully out of the picture, it was finally time for our Young Enterprise Sixth Form teams to hit the streets of Windsor for their second trade fair of the year.

Based in the Royal Windsor Shopping Centre, the teams had prime spots near the train station and popular restaurants of Windsor. With strong levels of passing footfall, our teams took the opportunity to charm the passing shoppers with an aim of generating interest in their products, so much so that one American tourist was keen to have a photograph with one of the Fold-a-Bag team members, Calum. Not one to pass on a sales opportunity, Calum insisted he would only pose for a photo if she purchased a bag!

With such charm resonating from the teams, it could only be a success and despite the wet weather, students managed to secure some sales and generate lots of interest from passing shoppers.

Now the trade fair is complete, our budding entrepreneurs are now busy finalising their company reports and preparing for the area final at the O2 in Slough on the 18th April.  This will be their toughest challenge of all as they must prepare a formal presentation for a team of judges as well as face an interview and final trade fair show. We wish Fold-a-Bag and Illumination the best of luck for the final stage!
