Former Pupil Amber Hill Wins Silver In Commonwealth Games!

Many congratulations to former Claires Court girl Amber Hill who won a silver medal in the 2018 Commonwealth Games women's skeet shooting final on Sunday 8 April!
Amber, aged 20, shot 49 from 60 targets in the final 10 targets, whilst winner Andri Eleftheriou claimed the gold with 52 from 60 targets.
As the youngest ever Skeet World Cup gold medallist, which she achieved aged 15, and the winner of the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2013, Amber is no stranger to success.
Margaret Heywood, Claires Court Head of Senior Girls, said:
“We are thrilled to hear the news of Amber's latest achievement. It is so deserved and for such a young athlete to keep focussed during such an intense final is a testament to her commitment and maturity. We are so proud of Amber and as a school we are particularly delighted as Amber's former fellow classmate Ellie Rayer is representing England in the hockey at the Commonwealth Games.”
