Exploring Maidenhead

There was a huge amount of excitement in Reception Class on Wednesday when the girls took the bus to the local library. It was a drizzly morning but the girls didn't mind, pupil Caitlin said 'our berets can be our umbrellas!’
Suzanne James, Reception Teacher explains more about their journey;
“We walked down to the bus stop on the Bath Road and waited for the 16A service into Maidenhead. Once we got to the library we were greeted by James who gave us a short talk and then set us on a mission in groups finding different books in different sections of the library. After that we had some time to enjoy looking at a variety of books, we even finished with three stories! On the way out Florence McArdle, who had her very own library card, was able to take out some of the books she had chosen. Fellow pupil Leona said 'I'd like to get some books, I want to join the library'.
The return journey was on the number 5 bus and we got back to school just in time for lunch. Yum!”
