A Trip Down Memory Lane

A total of 87 former pupils as well as two ex-teachers and one former school secretary attended a reunion last weekend, run by Administrative Principal and Bursar, Hugh Wilding.
Those present had attended the Convent of the Nativity between 1948-1979, prior to the school becoming Maidenhead College for Girls and finally Claires Court in April 1993.
Hugh gave a tour of Claires Court and many were amazed at how the school had evolved and changed. One lady came with her 80 year old mother who also went to the school, and her mother was delighted to see herself in one of the photos on display!
Dawn Doherty, former pupil, said:
“It was a wonderful day, filled with shared memories and laughter as we re-lived our school days at the Convent of the Nativity. Almost 90 former pupils attended, including some who had been boarders at the school. We had old girls from as far afield as Scotland, York, Isle of Wight, Wales and even Australia. Our former school secretary and two teachers also came along. It was lovely to have a picnic on the fields and to feel that although time has passed, it stands still when you are taken back to the memories that matter. Thank you to Hugh Wilding and Claires Court for a truly memorable day.”
