Junior And Senior Girls LAMDA
This year, an impressive total of 50 Junior and Senior Girls took LAMDA examinations.
In Year 10 this year saw the largest group of girls taking the Grade 5 Acting in Performance, Acting Solo, equal to a GCSE Grade, of which seven girls achieved Merits, and eight were awarded Distinctions. Hannah Woodhead achieved an outstanding 100%. One girl took the Grade 3 Award in Performance, Acting Solo, and was awarded a Distinction.
A total of 34 Junior girls in Years 3 to 6 achieved LAMDA qualifications:
- 20 Girls took the Entry Level Award in Performance, Acting Solo of which: 4 Passes, 11 Merits, 5 Distinctions
-6 Girls took Grade 1 Award in Performance, Acting Solo of which: 1 Pass, 3 Merits, 2 Distinctions
-7 Girls took Grade 2 Award in Performance, Acting Solo of which: 1 Pass, 2 Merits, 4 Distinctions
-1 Girl took Grade 3 Award in Performance, Acting Solo of which was awarded a Merit
Kate Warren, Junior Girls and Senior Girls Head of Drama, said:
“LAMDA has continued to grow across the Junior and Senior girls at Claires Court. More girls are seeing the great benefits and opportunities these qualifications allow them. I’m so proud of how the girls’ drama skills and confidence has developed”.
Feedback from the examiners included comments that "girls were well prepared giving such detailed response in all areas on the knowledge questions", that they "fully communicated the character through physicality, expressions, use of tonal changes in voice and stage presence" and “they demonstrated total understanding of the mood and thoughts of characters displayed".
