Junior Girls flexed their creative muscles this week when they attended the launch event of this year's national Summer Reading Challenge.
Author and Illustrator Chloe Inkpen ran a special art workshop with the Lower Juniors, while Years 3 and 4 were treated to a comic art masterclass by Beano and Marvel comic illustrator, Kev F Sutherland. He even created individual caricatures of some of our girls after his event.
Horrible Science illustrator Tony de Saulles gave lots of hints and tips to the aspiring writers and illustrators in Years 5 and 6, who each created their own book character and storyline.
The theme of this year's Summer Reading Challenge is Mischief Makers, focusing on all those naughty book characters we know and love... Horrid Henry even made a special appearance on the day!
Junior Girls were also rewarded for their efforts in the Design a Cartoon Character competition. With three Claires Court winners selected by the illustrators attending the event, we have our own 'Mischief Makers' to be very proud of!
