Fifth In The EPSCA National Final!
Our Under 9 chess team spent Tuesday and Wednesday of this week up in Birmingham playing in the English Primary Schools Chess Association (EPSCA) final. They came up against the creme de la creme of UK chess and proved they could go toe-to-toe with them. There were some very tough matches, but the boys were able to be beat Hall School and Hab's, as well as pushing Westminster Under (the eventual winners) closer than any other opponent, finishing in fifth place in the country!
Congratulations again to Kida, Josh, Moksha, Aaran, Kanishka and Tom. Every boy contributed, winning at least one game. Special congratulations go to Kida for scoring 6/7 on Board 1 (more than any other player in the tournament), and for beating Westminster's Board 1 for the second time in a week!
