The Living Rainforest
This term for topic, Year 6 are focusing on ‘Amazon Adventures’, learning about the Amazon River, deforestation of the rainforest, the Inca trail, Maya civilisation and local wildlife.
In their studies of the wildlife, they are looking at how plants and animals adapt to their surroundings. Therefore, a visit to The Living Rainforest in Hampstead Norreys, home to over 700 plants and animals including rare and endangered species, was incredibly informative.
The girls saw an abundance of species, including pitcher plants, a toucan called Edwin, an Asian Water Dragon and snake, to name a few!
