Techniques Perfected for the Swimming Gala

Congratulations to all the girls who took part in the Junior Swimming Gala. It was a great event with the pupils, parents and teachers supporting and cheering the girls on in some very tight individual and well-practised relay races.
A special mention must go to the following girls for their outstanding performances, winning the Victrix Ludorum;
Rhiannon Thomas (Year 3), 2 individual golds/ silver in the relay
Lola Constable (Year 4), 2 individual golds/ silver in the relay
Neve Cottee (Year 4), 2 individual golds/ silver in the relay
Riley Hopley (Year 5), 2 individual golds/ gold in the relay
Yasmin Paton (Year 6), 2 individual golds/ gold in the relay
Amara Shafiq (Year 6), 2 individual golds/ gold in the relay
A number of special awards were presented to each year group, who showed excellent courage, loyalty and effort towards their house on the day; Emily Terry, Mireia Bawden, Alexandra Kulikova, Zara Brewer, Sophie Seaman, Anya Brewer, Helen Cooper, Samira Jena, Harriet Taylor West, Natasha Hawkins, Keylin Dobriyanovi Fileva, Nife Oladoyinbo.
Katie Hudson, PE Teacher who organised the event said,
“I want to say huge congratulations to everybody who took part and helped make this event so successful. The girls have been practising on a weekly basis to perfect their swimming technique and to increase their water confidence. Their performances on the day were exceptional in all areas and there was an impressive 13 records broken on the day. I look forward to this event next year!”
