National Poetry Day

On Thursday 4 October, National Poetry Day was celebrated across the School in many different forms.
At Senior Boys, Year 7 were asked to write a poem on this year’s theme of change. Luke Wespieser, Head of English, led an assembly to all year groups; reciting his poem about how changing your attitude to certain things can change your life. Year 7 pupils Harry and Edward played the roles of his teacher and friend, giving him advice during the poem.
Meanwhile, at Junior Girls a Poetry Party was held, where girls wrote poems on butterflies and caterpillars and read them out loud to reflect this year's theme of change.
Year 1 girls also went for a walk around the School to be inspired for their line poems about autumnal nature. Once they were back in their classroom they wrote about conkers, pumpkins and blackberries to name a few!
