Big Me Week

It’s been ‘Big Me Week’ for our Junior Girls, to support the charity ActionAid UK.

Each year group has been learning more about different career paths, and how they can make the most of the opportunities available to them.

On Thursday, to celebrate International Day of the Girl, Junior Girls held a ‘Big Me Day’, where girls and staff dressed up as what they want to be when they grow up, expressing their future ambitions. An array of costumes were seen around school, including police women, a ballerina, doctors and a farmer! Each pupil brought in £1 to raise money for ActionAid UK; amazingly each pound can help a young girl go to school for two weeks.

Anna Foster, Community Engagement Officer at ActionAid UK, delivered an assembly to the girls about the work ActionAid do, and how the charity is helping to change lives for good.

Anna, guest speaker, said:

“A huge thanks to everyone at Claires Court school for taking part in Big Me today. It’s amazing to see all the children inspired to dress as who they want to be when they grow up and support ActionAid, we are so grateful!”
