A Morning With A Heart Surgeon
Learning about the function of the heart and how to keep hearts healthy was all in a morning’s work for Year 3 boys when a cardiologist came to visit.
The group put on scrubs and worked on putting together a heart model, with all the different parts. They listened to each other's hearts with a stethoscope and even saw ultrasounds of their peers’ hearts in action.
Amy Carter, Year 3 teacher, said:
“The boys were all enthralled and talked of how cool it was to put on scrubs and see how the heart worked in real life!”
