Weird And Wonderful Artwork

A trip to the Saatchi Gallery in London really gave Year 12 and 13 art A Level students an idea of current contemporary art.
The exhibition they viewed was entitled ‘Black Mirror: Art and Social Satire’, and it explored how political uncertainty has influenced art of recent years. The work was made up of mainly young British artists, who used media such as collage, caricatures, photography and installation.
The students sketched from relevant artwork in the gallery and gathered ideas for their personal projects.
Joel Wareing, Head of Art, said:
“A great day was had by all with some very weird and wonderful artwork on display. We had lots to discuss on the train back!”
