The 18th annual PTA Chess Festival was a great success with 60 participants vying for trophies and qualification places in the London Nationals.

We were the best represented school at the tournament. Special congratulations to Tom Avezbakiev and Kanishka Suriarachchi who finished second and third place respectively in the Under 8 Section.

Richard Hogg, Junior Boys chess teacher, said:

“The competition was extremely fierce and the tournament had one of the strongest fields I have seen with at least seven potential England players taking part. Well done to all the Junior Boys who entered, and thanks go to Mr Dennis and the Claires Court PTA for all their work in making the day so successful. We now look forward to our autumn term tournament on Monday 17 December!”
