£2600 Raised For The Prince’s Trust
Senior Boys Head of Art Frances Ackland-Snow raised an astonishing £2600 for The Prince’s Trust after being the artist in residence at the Dell EMC Million Makers Gala Dinner at The Savoy.
Frances was asked to dress up and portray the famous artist Frida Kahlo. She painted on stage during the meal, and was keenly watched by those in attendance who could see her painting via a projection. Once the painting was finished, Frances delivered a speech to the guests about how the Trust helps the wellbeing of disadvantaged young people. Her live painting raised £1600 and she raised a further £1000 by giving a painting to auction of Westminster Bridge. Frances’s connection to The Prince’s Trust is deep rooted as she used to be a mentor for young people leaving care for The Prince’s Trust. Since then Frances has been raising money by auctioning paintings for The Prince’s Trust Gala events every year.
Frances said, “It was a fantastic evening, it was one of the best times of my life! I felt I was inside one of my dreams meeting all my favourite artists , plus being my heroine Frida Kahlo at The Savoy!”
Frances now looks forward to the Royal Arts Prize exhibition at Pall Mall Gallery in London in February, after being one of 25 artists selected to exhibit her work.
