Popping to the Postbox
Reception and Year 1 took a trip to the local post box this week, to post the postcards they bought at Bucklebury Farm.
Suzanne James, Reception Teacher, explained more about what the girls learnt when they wrote their cards;
“We talked about how post cards are different from letters and the girls found the box where to stick their stamp. They then identified where the address should be written and how important it was to write the house number correctly, making sure the numbers were not reversed, understanding that otherwise the card would be delivered to the wrong house! Charlotte said 'it would be ok if your house number was 11 because then it wouldn't matter which number you wrote first as they are both the same' - what an amazing critical thinker!
The girls are looking forward to their postcards dropping on their doormats in the next few days!”
