Senior Carol Services
This year ended on a festive high with two carol services at St Luke’s Church in Maidenhead. Pupils blew the audience away with readings and choral and individual performances of traditional Christmas songs.
In the Years 7 to 9 service, the audience of pupils, parents and staff were given a warm welcome by John Rayer, Head of Senior Boys, and were then treated to readings by pupils, and performances including ‘The Most Wonderful Birthday of All’ by pupils Luke, Lewis and Oliver, and ‘That Christmas To Me’ by the Senior Girls Choir. Flutists Katie and Hannah played ‘I wish it could be Christmas every day’ and the Senior Boys choir delivered a wonderful performance of ‘The Holly and the Ivy’ by John Gardner.
In the Year 10 to Sixth Form carol service, pupil Robert and Senior Boys Head of Music Adrian Roach led with an opening instrumental item of ‘Away in a Manger’. Year 12 drama students then performed ‘What kind of Messiah does anyone want?’and Sixth Formers sang ‘Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!’ Songs sang by the congregation included ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’, ‘Hark The Herald Angels Sing’ and ‘Once In Royal David’s City’.
Well done to all the pupils involved. See the Year 7 to 9 service gallery and the Year 10 to Sixth Form service gallery.
