Dragons, Noodles And Chopsticks!

Nursery children celebrated Chinese New Year this week and it was especially exciting as one of the boys celebrates it and he brought in traditional clothes to try on, chopsticks to use and decorations to hang up in the classroom.
The girls and boys immersed themselves in Chinese culture; looking at where China is, the animals there and some of the beliefs of Chinese people. The teacher talked about dragons, their lucky colours and what the New Year means to them.
For the rest of the week, the children made a dragon so they could create a traditional dance. The children were amazing with their dragon movements and others created music to dance to. They also enjoyed trying noodles, rice and prawn crackers!
