Bringing Home Bronze
Senior Girls U14 netball team recently brought home bronze medals from the ISA Netball National Finals, which took place at Queen Ethelburga’s College in York on Saturday 9 March.
Over twelve schools participated and Claires Court girls performed exceptionally well, in the group stages winning 18-1 against St David’s College and 12-1 versus Alton School, and losing 8-5 against Alderley Edge School for Girls. They progressed on to the semi-final where they lost 8-6 to Princethorpe College, but won 10-1 against Ballard School in the third and fourth place play off, securing them third place in the competition!
Rebecca Guttridge, Senior Girls sports teacher, said:
“I was very proud of the girls as they played so well, and so many others commented on what a talented team they were. Unfortunately the 'wind' was not in our favour in the semi-final but I was pleased with the way the team bounced back to win their play-off so convincingly.”
