Drama pupils from Junior Boys and Junior Girls charmed judges at the ISA Drama Competition last month, with their impressive dramatisation of Julia Donaldson’s picture book ‘The Snail and the Whale’.
With great stagecraft and a clever use of props, the cast beautifully portrayed the gentle story of the snail with an itchy foot.
Jan Icke, Junior Boys Drama Teacher, commented:
“Pupils sang along to Otis Redding's ‘Sittin' on the Dock of a Bay’, used masks, cloths, costumes and gymnastic ribbons to create atmosphere and tell the story. The event was amazing, we all learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”
