Down by the Cool of the Pond

Our young horticulturists from Nursery had the chance to put their green fingers to work with plenty of gardening down by the pond!
Pupils started by repotting the budding tomato plants into new, larger pots to encourage the plants to continue growing. Then pupils made sure the plants were sufficiently nourished by filling their watering cans with the collected rainwater from the water butt.
Tara Ainsley, Nursery teacher, said:
“There was lots for Nursery children to help with in the pond area this week, including plenty of digging, planting and even refilling the pond up with the hose. Pupils also transferred the tadpoles they have been observing into a new tank.”
