Aloha from Year 1
Junior Boys from Year 1 said ‘Aloha’ to their new topic of ‘Hawaii’ last week with a traditional Hawaiian party, a ‘Luau’.
An opportunity for the boys to experience the unique traditions and culture of Hawaii, the Luau saw pupils dressing up in leis, a Hawaiian flower garland, and enjoying ‘mocktails’ from coconut cups at the tiki bar! There was even the chance to use some maths when working out fractions using tropical fruit from Hawaii.
Leo, Year 1 pupil, commented:
“I loved all the bright colours. It felt like we really were in Hawaii!”
