Eight schools from Maidenhead and the surrounding area took part in the gala, which for many competitors was their first event in a 25 metre eight lane pool. The pupils competed in a mixture of individual stroke races and combined for the mixed relay races. This was one of the few times that the boys and girls get swim together as a team, with the relay teams comprised of two boys and two girls.

Brad Pennington, Junior Boys PE teacher, said:

“All pupils should be very proud of themselves both as swimmers and as ambassadors of Claires Court.”
