Books, Beers and BBQ

Over thirty father's joined their sons at Senior Boys for an evening focused around the importance of reading for pleasure and the many advantages it provides young people today.
An opportunity for dads to spend quality time with their sons after a busy week of exams, the evening involved activities which emphasised the importance of communication and description. Despite the adverse weather conditions Head of Year, Gareth Miller, along with Deputy Heads, Ronell Selzer and Huw Buckle, skilfully negotiated the BBQ to ensure appetites were met with burgers and sausages aplenty whilst the dads enjoyed a beer.
The boys also shared some reading with their dads whilst enjoying ice cream and the evening was rounded off with an exciting quiz which was decided in a tense tie breaker!
Paul Thompson, Senior Boys English teacher, said:
“Many thanks to all staff, parents and boys that contributed to a fun and successful event!”
