Making a Splash at the Junior Girls Swimming Gala

Congratulations to all the Year 3 to 6 girls who took part in the Junior Swimming Gala before half term!
A fantastic event in which pupils, parents and staff supported and cheered on the swimmers, the gala saw some very tight individual races along with well-practised relays. A number of excellent individual performances saw pupils achieve this year’s Victrix Ludorum, which will be awarded in our Junior Sports Assembly at the end of term.
Throughout the gala the girls showed great determination and team spirit towards their house, with a number of special awards presented to each year group for pupils who showed excellent courage, loyalty and effort towards their house on the day.
Katie Hudson, Junior Girls PE teacher, said:
“I want to say huge congratulations to everybody who took part and helped make this event so successful. The girls have been practising on a weekly basis to perfect their swimming technique and increase their water confidence. Their performances on the day were exceptional in all areas and there was an impressive six records broken on the day. I look forward to this event next year!”
