A Week of Activity

The culmination of the Academic Year saw our Seniors enjoy a multitude of practical learning experiences during their Activity Week.
This year’s Activity Week focused on developing four aspects of our learning philosophy ‘The Claires Court Essentials’; collaboration, critical thinking, communication and problem solving. Pupils headed outside of the classroom to participate in a number of activities designed to challenge and push their boundaries, allowing them to be wrong and learn from that experience. Activities included scavenger hunts, STEM challenges, orienteering, camping, bushcraft and Army training.
Pupils were also taught the importance of giving back to their local community and undertook a number of voluntary activities, including working with Maidenhead Waterways Restoration Trust to rake, cut and clean up the channels of the River Thames in Maidenhead. With the environment at the forefront of their minds, pupils also collaborated to create vlogs looking at the issues of recycling, conservation and restoration.
Sarah Clifford, Senior Girls Head of Year 10, commented:
“We were extremely impressed with how well the girls and boys worked with each other to complete their different challenges. The week was a great end to a busy year, allowing pupils to enjoy time with their friends before heading off for their summer holidays.”
