A Roundup of Healthy Eating Week 2016

All week pupils and staff have been taking part in Food Awareness and Healthy Eating. At break times healthier alternative snacks have been available that have proven very popular with pupils. DIY yoghurt and chickpea curry went down especially well at Senior Boys where one pupil stocked up with seven pots!
Junior Boys were busy trying different foods that tested their tastebuds! British cheeses caused some mixed reactions in Year 2 and Year 6 tried the cheeses before working out where they thought in the UK the cheese came from. Year 4 boys tried vegetable pix and mix, Year 3 tried some delicious smoothies. Alongside this they have all been continuing to work on their vegetable patches.
Nursery tasted various fruits and vegetables and then voted on which was their favourite. Looks like carrot came out on top!
Reception girls loved smelling, tasting and cutting fruit to make juicy fruit kebabs for healthy eating week!
Stephen Rhodes, Domestic Bursar commented;
“What a great week it has been with the main conclusion from the catering side is whilst wary of change, the pupils have especially enjoyed the new healthy snacks”
