Championing Multilingualism
The Modern Foreign Languages department was buzzing last week as pupils and staff gathered to celebrate the importance of language learning when they observed ‘European Day of Languages’.
The day began with an assembly where a number of talented Sixth Form linguists demonstrated their skills and explained to their peers why they had opted to undertake further study in their chosen language.
Back in the classrooms there was a vast array of food originating from France, Germany and Spain on offer for tasting. There was also the opportunity to have pictures taken in the exclusive MFL photobooth which was fully equipped with a number of props to give that authentic European touch!
Eva Urzaiz, Senior Girls Spanish teacher, commented:
“Everyone who took part enjoyed themselves enormously – roll on next year!”
