A Festival of Rugby

With the Rugby World Cup well underway, our U11 rugby stars were eager to get on the pitch when they were invited to play in a rugby festival hosted at Allianz Park, the home of the current Premiership Rugby champions Saracens.

This was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to play on the same pitch that many of England’s current World Cup stars ply their trade. The emphasis of festival rugby is very much focused on all pupils enjoying the sport and learning from the experience, which they certainly did!

Meanwhile, our U9 teams hosted a rugby festival of their own when we welcomed teams from Gayhurst, St George’s Weybridge, Chesham Prep, Oratory Prep School, Berkamsted and Winchester House to Junior Boys for a morning of excellent rugby. Our teams showed just how far they have come in a very short space of time since the start of term. They played some fantastic attacking rugby and were fearless in defence, managing to notch up five wins out of six games!

Nick Butterfield, Junior Boys Head of PE, praised the boys:

“Our pupils showed real heart against strong opposition and it was a great learning experience that stands them in good stead for the rest of the season”.
