Senior Carol Services
St Luke’s Church in Maidenhead resonated with festive cheer as Senior pupils and Sixth Form students participated in two remarkable carol services, which showcased some of the very best musical talent Claires Court has to offer. Pupils performed with confidence as they addressed the congregation with their thought-provoking readings and stunning ensemble or solo performances of Carols and traditional Christmas songs.
In the Years 7 to 9 service, the audience of pupils, parents and staff were greeted with a warm welcome from Margaret Heywood, Head of Senior Girls, and were then treated to readings by pupils, and performances including ‘Lulajze Jezuniu’ by the Senior Boys Choir and Ukulele Group, and ‘Where Are You Christmas?’ by the Senior Girls Voices.
The Years 10 to 13 carol service saw readings from Head Boy, James Lambert, and Head Girl, Kayla Raeburn-James along with Senior Head Boy and Girl, Max Pianta and Hannah Hale. Year 11 pupil Hannah Senior wowed the audience with her solo performance of ‘Home For Christmas’ whilst the congregation joined in with songs ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’, ‘Hark The Herald Angels Sing’ and ‘Whilst Shepherds Watched’.
James Wilding, Academic Principal and Head of Senior Boys, commented:
“Given that none on show arises because of curricular work, but derives from additional efforts made in the weft and weave of school life, what we in school get to appreciate is simply remarkable!”
