Junior Boys swim team raises £1500 for charity
Earlier this month, a team of eight Junior Boys participated at the Lions Club of Maidenhead annual swimarathon, raising up to £1500 for charity.
Hosted at the Magnet Leisure Centre, Maidenhead, the boys swam a 55 minute relay in aid two causes very close to the heart of Junior Boys, Research and Treatment of ALC Lymphoma and Holy Cross Hospital. In addition to these charities a percentage of the funds raised will go to the Maidenhead Lions, supporting both local and global projects.
Eight of our strongest swimmers were chosen from years 5 and 6:
Josh (Year 5)
Sam (Year 5)
Toby (Year 5)
Aaran (Year 6)
George (Year 6)
Spike (Year 6)
Jack (Year 6)
Oliver (Year 6)
Karin Whiteley, Junior Boy swimming instructor, commented on the team’s effort: “Our boys managed to clock up an amazing 126 laps and at a consistent pace they kept up the speed for 55 minutes, beating several adult teams and impressing everyone present.”
