A galaxy not so far away

Year 5 were blasted through space when they stepped into the mobile planetarium in a recent visit at Junior Boys, which saw pupils gain a deeper understanding of the solar system.
Pupils laid mesmerised under the stars as they discovered how the movement and tilt of the Earth influences night and day, and the seasons. The phases of the Moon were cleverly demonstrated to the boys and pupils were bursting with questions after absorbing lots of new facts.
Nicola Vine, Junior Boys Year 5 teacher, explained the benefits of the visit: “The whole experience was a great learning opportunity and has certainly whet the boys appetite as we continue to study our topic for the term, ‘Earth in space’.
