The dining hall was transformed into a wonderful tea shop, when on Friday 17 June, Claires Court Junior Girls opened their annual Strawberry Café. This was the event's tenth year, and with class numbers steadily increasing, the number of customers has too!
Parents, grandparents, friends and office staff were seated by Year 1 and 2 waitresses who then took orders for dozens of scones and jam, served with clotted cream and fresh strawberries. The girls had to total orders and work out change, charging a bargain price of under £1 for a full cream tea.
Claire Wardman, Teaching Assistant, said;
“Our customers left delighted by both the attentive service and the delicious refreshments. Well done to all our wonderful waitresses and thank you to the hardworking staff who gave the girls the opportunity to use their newly acquired money skills in such an appealing task.”
