Croissant, Monsieur?
There was an opportunity to explore French culture and cuisine at Junior Boys this week when Year 5 were treated to a trip to a Parisian cafe for breakfast.
As pupils browsed their handmade menus, they were waited on by fellow pupils who donned an apron and fake moustache. Pupils were served a range of French delicacies, including pain au chocolat and croissant. The mock cafe was adorned with cafe posters created by the pupils along with the French flag. There was also the opportunity to explore foreign currency as pupils paid with pretend Euros.
Veronique Shannon, Junior Boys French teacher, spoke of the learning experience: “The atmosphere was full of buzz as the boys enjoyed sampling their French breakfast. This was a great opportunity for them to embrace another culture and to practice their French conversation skills.”
