Guten Tag from Berlin
There was excitement in the Modern Foreign Languages department as Year 8 German linguists received replies from their pen pals in Berlin.
Partnering with the Herwegh Gymnasium in Berlin, pupils eagerly translated the letters they had received from their German counterparts and have started writing their responses. Some pupils are planning to meet up with the pen pal during their holiday to Berlin.
Jasmin King-Salter, Senior Girls German teacher, commented on the exercise: “Working in partnership with schools across the world provides a great opportunity for our pupils to apply their foreign language skills in a fun and authentic way.”
