Yasmin named player of the tournament as Claires Court win ISA U15 National Hockey Finals

Before half term, our U15 hockey team were crowned national hockey champions at the Independent Schools Association finals hosted at the Lee Valley Olympic Hockey Park with Year 10 pupil Yasmin named player of the tournament!

With plenty of possession, Claires Court was an attacking force, winning their first four games 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 and 3-0 to secure a place at the top of the table and passage through into the semi-finals. A tense semi-final match against Ipswich High saw the game finish 1-1 and was to be decided by penalty shuffles. Claires Court held their nerve and overcame their opponents to win 4-3 on penalty shuffles to head though into the final.

Showing a relaxed demeanour, Claires Court put on an impressive performance against Hull Collegiate winning 1-0, securing the title of ISA U15 national champions.

Victoria Barrett, Senior Girls PE teacher, commended the team: “We are immensely impressed with not only the strength the girls have shown on the pitch but also their positive attitude throughout the day, great work girls! We are incredibly fortunate to be able to provide our pupils with so many opportunities to practice and hone their skills.”
