Art is a time for freedom

In this time of social distancing and remote working, Senior Boys Head of Art and artist in residence Frances Ackland-Snow has been spreading joy amongst the Claires Court community by painting a picture for each day of the ‘lockdown’.
Encouraging both pupils and staff to get creative at home, Frances is leading by example and painting a mini canvas for each day that the country is asked to stay indoors as part of the fight against Covid-19. Asking staff and pupils to share their artwork with her, Frances hopes to put together an exhibition with the paintings once life returns to normal: “During these uncertain times, I hope to bring some cheer and I will be organising a Claires Court community exhibition for when this time of isolation is over. The exhibition will be called 'Art is a time for freedom' and will be a chance for us to all come together once this time has passed and celebrate our creativity.”
