NEW SCHOOL CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT

PRESS RELEASE 23/06/16

Claires Court School in Maidenhead will be presenting its plans for a new school campus at its Ridgeway school site in early July.

In order to help meet the continuing need for school places in the Borough, the school proposes to unify its current three school sites into a single campus at the Ridgeway Site, providing new high quality school buildings that will cater for children from Early Years up to age 18.  The plans will also provide new sports pitches, a multi-sports pavilion and facilities for drama, art and music plus an ecological habitat area.

The school will be opening its doors to members of the public, existing and prospective parents and neighbours to review the proposals on:

Saturday 9th July 2016 from 10am-2pm
at Claires Court Junior Boys, Ridgeway, The Thicket, Maidenhead, Berkshire SL6 4QQ

Hugh Wilding, Principal of Claires Court said:

“We are delighted to be bringing forward a plan for our Ridgeway site, as this gives us a tremendous opportunity to provide an excellent, sustainable new campus where our children can continue to thrive.  This exciting project will secure the school’s future and bring a wide range of benefits to our pupils, staff and the wider community.  We do hope that many residents will call in to see the plans.”

The school is teaming up with Maidenhead Hockey Club to allow the club access to the sports facilities during evenings and weekends.

To enable the new school campus to be delivered, the vacated school sites at College Avenue and Ray Mill Road East and part of the Ridgeway site will be redeveloped into homes by Berkeley Homes.

Claires Court and Berkeley Homes held an earlier consultation on the redevelopment plans in 2014.  The original scheme also included a new hospital at the Ridgeway site, however the hospital promoters have since decided not to go ahead with the plans. Therefore the scheme no longer includes a hospital.

For those unable to attend, the project details will available on the campus consultation  page after the exhibition.
