Virtual House music competition

Despite the national school closures and the new world of distance learning, our musicians at Senior Boys still managed to demonstrate their talents in a very special virtual edition of the popular house music competition.
Keen to boost morale in these challenging times our dedicated staff room organised the competition asking pupils and staff alike to send in musical recordings of themselves, which did not disappoint with a number of innovative performances!
The recordings were distributed online via Google Classroom and pupils were asked to vote for their favourite. Mr Wespieser took first place with his entry ‘Isolation’, an ingenious cover of Vanilla Ice’s ‘Ice Ice Baby’.
Michael Hudson, Senior Boys teacher, commented: “We think it is really important to try and continue with things that bring the school community together, and the house music competition is something that can do just that. By offering the competition remotely we hope to have brought some joy to our pupils in these challenging times”.
