Feast your pies on this, it’s the Claires Court Pie Challenge!

Can you ‘rise’ to the challenge of baking the perfect pie? Whose crust will come up short as the winner ‘bakes’ all in the Claires Court pie challenge?
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it (it's not compulsory), is to create a delicious pie. Open to all Claires Court pupils, the pie must have a ‘motif’ on the top.
Here’s what you ‘knead’ to do:
-
Decide on your design, sketch out some ideas, maybe make a template, out of paper or card to see if your motif will work
-
Decide on your filling, sweet or savoury, anything goes! Look in your store cupboard, fridge or freezer and see what you can invent from the contents. Use your knowledge and understanding to think about flavours that may work together
-
Decide on the size of the pie - one large pie or individual pies? Check out your cupboards to see what you can use to make it in, a pie dish, cake tin, foil dish or another oven-proof container
-
Make and bake you pie - remembering to put your pastry motif on the top
-
Photograph and email a picture of your pie with a brief description to kei@clairescourt.net by next Tuesday 5 May.
Three, two, one… bake!
