A galaxy not so far from home
Claires Court living rooms have been transformed into the Milky Way as Senior Girls in Year 8 delve into space as part of their science topic.
As pupils adapt to ‘homeschool’ they have been finding creative ways to complete their distance learning tasks. Studying the size and shape of planets, pupils have recreated the solar system by building replica models of the Milky Way at home.
Clive Young, Senior Girls Science teacher, commented “Pupils have been studying ‘the Earth and beyond’ as part of their science topic, looking at the solar system, the scale of the distances involved and the sizes of the planets. Recreating the galaxy at home has been a great way to engage pupils in distance learning and has helped put in perspective the scale of the solar system.”
